About Gabriel Yafet

Gabriel Yafet is a Texas-based tenor, composer, producer, and creator of sacred musical theater with roots in Monterrey, Mexico. He began singing professionally at age nine as a boy soprano with the Compañía de Ópera Metropolitana under Eric Steinman. His early stage work included Amahl and the Night Visitors and Chip and His Dog.

A longtime interpreter of Mexico's National Anthem, Gabriel has performed it more than 200 times at sporting events, civic ceremonies, official engagements, and televised appearances, including performances for mayors, governors, and the President of Mexico.

His performance history includes appearances at the Hollywood Bowl, Teatro de la Ciudad, Arena Monterrey, and festivals in Italy and the United States. His vocal formation included study with Susan Young, Gilda Cruz Romo, and Manuel Acosta, along with studies at the Facultad de Música de la UANL and the Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Gabriel's work spans sacred music, classical crossover, Mexican and international repertoire, multilingual family music, and original musical theater. He wrote and composed Merry Melodies of Christmas: The Flame of Hope and is currently creating and producing The Light Was Born, an original sacred Christmas musical. Through music and theater, he seeks to inspire hope, awaken faith, and draw hearts toward God through beauty.
